Early Christianity, Coptic Studies, and the reception thereof

I am deeply fascinated by early Christianity in its various historical manifestations, and in particular by the rich Coptic textual universe. My research vision is rooted in understanding the interdependent relationships between late ancient texts, their persistence and transformation in cultural memory, and how this memory influences subsequent periods up to the present day. I am particularly interested in how the early modern and modern academic study of those texts has shaped practitioners’ imagination about late antiquity.
